Mindset and Personal Growth

Why did you become an entrepreneur? What was the vision that first led you to action and what keeps you going?

Your mindset is a choice. I used to wish I were like everyone else. I remember telling my therapist years ago that I just wanted to be normal. Then a funny thing happened; I shot past normal. I am writing about this topic on a small business related blog because the joy, enthusiasm, enrollment, and engagement you bring to your business directly effects how successful your business is. The world is a mirror, it reflects back to you, your life or mindset.

Your joy brings joy.

Enroll in a personal growth workshop. Insight seminars, landmark forum, Dale Carnegie (books and workshops) Columbia business school, Franklin Covey, David Allen, etc. are just a few great examples of workshops for personal and professional development. Make them a regular practice and the information you learn, you will begin to apply and they will positively change your life. Sadness, fear, and uncertainty will diminish as you learn and are empowered by learning from others.

Read books on personal growth; 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Think and Grow Rich, Getting Things Done, Servant Leadership, The Alchemist. Read in your industry every day.

Good-hearted people can move this world forward. We are better at contributing to others, and we are happier when we take the time to invest in and improve ourselves. Follow some version of a spiritual path, read inside your industry, read something that will help you grow as a person, and write daily.

Moving from negative to neutral will help you be more effective, a better leader, and a happier individual.
