As a small business owner, there are times when you experience stress or at least sense a feeling of urgency when it comes to your business. I have been a small business owner for over 17 years and to this day I'm aware of the need to manage my stress and sense of urgency. Symptoms of stress can be anything from feeling anxious, not sleeping well, snapping at others, screaming, overeating, or overspending.

Systemic Systems
How do you invoice? How often do you charge your clients? How do clients get your product? How do you handle customer service complaints? The answers to all of those questions reflect your systems. Some of those systems may be invisible to you. The way you handle employee complaints may not have a conscious system; you may handle complaints by immediately talking to that employee or having them fill out a complaint form, and both of those are systems.
Radio: Systemic Systems
Systemic systems are hugely personalizable. Your branding comes out of your vision. Which business do you have? Running the systems in your business can be complicated and rewarding but they're worth looking into.

3 Styles of Small Business Owners
I was sitting in a meeting one day talking about parenting style and I realized that the topic was applicable for small businesses. Different types of managing styles are a lot like different parenting styles. The three styles they talked about, that want to talk about in terms of business are:
Good-Hearted Business Owner & Team Management
Your desire to be a good-hearted business owner might be thwarted by your sense of overwhelm or that you give your employees too much control over their schedule in the name of being understanding. Having the expectation that your employees will work as you, is not going to lead to you and them to having a satisfying relationship. Your employees rely on you to give them their paycheck and they count on you to be their boss; if you're overwhelmed, scared of not having enough money to pay them, etc. It's actually kinder to keep a sense of balance when it comes to conversations with your employees.

Delegation & Your Leadership Style
The basic topic of time management is really a conversation about tasks, not time. What tasks are you involved with? What tasks do you and your business need to get done? Tasks are part of time management as well as the systemic systems that move your business forwards. Time management affects leadership and employee management skills. Your management style needs to be flexible and work for you. Time management is a necessary and important part of your business; it affects your business culture.
