Last year I started a series called, Spiritual Principles in Business and I thought it was a great series to start off the new year revisiting. Many of you, like myself, are spiritual or conscious-minded business owners and in my experience as a small business consultant, we tend to shy away from the sales and marketing portion of our business because we don't want to feel like sleazy car salesmen.

I admit-- even after 14+years of being a small business owner, I don't always do a great job of telling people about my business. People at my monthly FIBI Pasadena meetings often joke that they know more about me as a mom than they know about what professional products or services I offer. I make the biggest mistake around marketing-- avoiding talking about my business-- by not getting the word out about what I do and have to offer, especially during a networking event run by me. 

Even as a small business owner for over 14 years I don't always do a great job of telling people about my business. People have often told me that they know more about my personal life than what professional products or services I offer. If you're like me and need to do a better job of communicating that your company exists and sharing how you can improve the lives of others, this week's radio show is for you.
